by Philthy on Apr.23, 2009, under LOL of the Day
Check out this awesome song/video of the Miss California controversy and other topics made by Mike Gregory. This is one of the funniest videos I have seen in a long time. For a second I could swear it’s actually T-Pain, LOL.

8.5 Percent of Youth “Addicted” to Video Games
by Philthy on Apr.20, 2009, under Uncategorized
A new study concludes that children can become addicted to playing video games, with some skimping on homework, lying about how much they play and struggling, without success, when they try to cut back.In what is described as the first nationally representative study in the United States on the subject, researcher Douglas Gentile of Iowa State University found that 8.5 percent of American youths ages 8 to 18 who play video games show multiple signs of behavioral addiction.
Ok I have to post about this one, since I am an avid gamer and have been playing video games since the NES days. First of all, yes there have definitely been times where I have fibbed about how much time I played video games, or saying I didn’t play, when I really stayed up all night playing Ultimate Qix for SEGA.
Can kids become addicted to video games? Probably. Can it be as unhealthy as an addiction to cigarettes or alcohol? Probably in extreme situations. I grew up in a generation where kids still played outside all day when it was nice and stayed in glued to Super Mario World when it was nasty out. Today kids won’t go outside if there was a sign saying “FREE PIZZA!”. No, instaed they stay inside no matter what the weather is, just to get their game time in.
Back in the early-to-mid 90’s you didn’t have the selection of consoles, PC’s, and handhelds that you do today.
I don’t think its an addiction issue as much as it is a “parents not taking the reigns and making their children play outside” issue.
“But there are outside environments in World of Warcraft, isn’t that good enough?”
And you wonder why your child is fat…
LOL of the Day: Cats Don’t Fax Well
by Philthy on Apr.19, 2009, under LOL of the Day
As the title of today’s LOL of the Day suggests, cats indeed do not fax well, no matter how hard you try. I wonder if you can fax a goat? /random.
LOL of the Day: CNN’s Anderson Cooper “Teabagging”.
by Philthy on Apr.17, 2009, under LOL of the Day
In our new series, LOL of the Day, I bring you a video on You-Tube that was just awesome to say the least.
In the recent flutter of the Republican “Boston Tea Party 2″, popular CNN correspondent Anderson Cooper clearly put his foot in his mouth talking about “teabagging”. Obviously he doesn’t know the true meaning of the term. (It’s at the end of the video).

Heroes

Hiro Nakamura, Ando, Claire Bennett, Sylar, Mohinder Siresh…
Heroes is one of the greatest new shows to come to prime-time. If you haven’t seen it yet, I highly recommend it. I guarantee you will be hooked. The third season has been a little bit rocky since the writers strike that cut last season short, but the last few episodes have shown that the show hasn’t lost it’s touch.
To say it’s like crack would be a misnomer…but I guess if I knew what crack was actually like, it would be like that. A better analogy would be like having an endless fountain of your favorite energy drink…it’s that good.
Below is a short (ok, it’s not that short) synapse of the storyline.
After a total eclipse casts its shadow across the globe, seemingly calling forth a multitude of everyday men and women with special powers, Dr. Mohinder Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy, “Blind Guy Driving”), a genetics professor from India, continues to champion his father’s theory that there are people with extraordinary abilities living among us. Claire Bennet, an indestructible high school cheerleader (Hayden Panettiere, “Bring it On: All or Nothing”), must hide her ability from her peers while working to maintain her relationship with her father (Jack Coleman, “Dynasty”), a man of mystery who has a keen interest in people like her. Niki Sanders, a Las Vegas single mother (Ali Larter, “Final Destination”) with astonishing strength - and a dangerous, amoral mirror image (Jessica Sanders) - struggles to support and protect her young son Micah (Noah Gray-Cabey, “My Wife & Kids”), a genius who can interact with electronic machinery through touch. Matt Parkman, a police detective (Greg Grunberg, “Alias”) from Los Angeles, attempts to put his ability to hear the thoughts of others to good use. In Japan, Hiro Nakamura’s (Masi Oka, NBC’s “Scrubs”) ability to pierce the space-time continuum and manipulate time has empowered him to change the future, as he embarks on wild adventures with his best friend Ando Masahashi (James Kyson Lee, “Shutter”). Nathan Petrelli, a congressional hopeful (Adrian Pasdar, “Judging Amy”) with the ability to fly, has his dreams dashed after failing to stop his younger brother Peter (Milo Ventimiglia, “Rocky Balboa”), a nurse with the ability to absorb the powers of others, from exploding over the New York City skyline. And after this violent clash in New York, the fate of Sylar, a manipulative serial killer (Zachary Quinto, “24″) dedicated to violently collecting the extraordinary talents of special people, is unknown. Meanwhile, in the Dominican Republic, a young woman named Maya Herrera (Dania Ramirez, “The Sopranos”) and her twin brother, plagued by her threatening ability, attempt to make the dangerous crossing to the United States in search of help. And Monica Dawson, another young woman (Dana Davis, “The Nine”) with newfound special abilities, would give up everything to help the people around her. Their ultimate destiny is nothing less than saving the world…
